Leverage for Discovery
Connecting exceptional technical talent with world-leading researchers to accelerate scientific breakthroughs.
AI capabilities now exist that can compress years of scientific work into days. But these tools remain disconnected from the researchers who need them most. Fulcrum is the lever—connecting technical talent with scientific vision to unlock discoveries that matter.

Recent benchmarks reveal a critical asymmetry: AI systems excel at well-defined problems but struggle with open-ended research. This isn't a fundamental limitation—it's a training gap. The bridge between AI capability and scientific impact requires human translators who understand both domains.
We're recruiting exceptional technical talent to accelerate scientific discovery. Our fellows will work at the intersection of cutting-edge AI and meaningful research, turning possibility into impact.
If you're a talented engineer or researcher who wants to apply AI to problems that matter, we want to hear from you. We're looking for people who are excited to work on the frontier of AI-enabled science.
If you're a scientist who sees the potential for AI to transform your field, we want to partner with you. We're building relationships with research teams ready to explore what's possible.
We focus on domains where AI capabilities are mature, research timelines can be meaningfully compressed, and the stakes justify deliberate investment.
Alex co-founded Hudson River Trading in 2002, where he spent ten years helping build a leading quantitative trading firm. After becoming fascinated with Bitcoin, he co-founded Chaincode Labs in 2014 to contribute to open research and development. Now his interest in emerging technology has brought him to focus on AI.
Jonas is CEO at Chaincode Labs, where he spearheaded multiple educational initiatives focused on helping contributors make an impact on bitcoin and related technologies. He previously worked as a software engineer and manager after transitioning from his former role developing the talents of professional baseball players.
We're building partnerships with research institutions, recruiting our first cohort of fellows, and defining the metrics that will prove this model works.
