Fulcrum.

Leverage for Discovery

Connecting exceptional technical talent with world-leading researchers to accelerate scientific breakthroughs.

01 — Our Mission

Give me a lever long enough, and I shall move the world.

AI can compress years of scientific work into days. But most researchers don't have access to the engineering talent that makes this possible. Fulcrum places AI engineers directly with research teams.

The tools exist. The talent is scattered.

AI systems can now solve olympiad-level problems, but getting results on real research requires people who understand both the tools and the science. Most labs don't have them.

03 — Who We Work With

We're looking for three kinds of people

01

AI Engineers

You know AI tools and want to use them on something real. We'll match you with a research lab.

02

Scientists

You're a researcher who wants to learn AI tools and integrate them into your work. We can help you get up to speed and connect you with engineers who can work on your problems.

03

Research Labs

You have hard problems and need AI talent to work on them. We'll find engineers who are excited about your research and ready to contribute.

Where we work

Materials Science
Energy Systems
Computational Biology
+ other fields

We're domain-agnostic. If you have a hard problem and need AI talent, we want to work with you.

Who we are

Alex Morcos

Co-Founder

Alex co-founded Hudson River Trading in 2002, where he spent ten years helping build a quantitative trading firm. After becoming fascinated with Bitcoin, he co-founded Chaincode Labs in 2014 to contribute to open research and development. Now his interest in emerging technology has brought him to focus on AI.

Suhas Daftuar

Co-Founder

Suhas co-founded Hudson River Trading in 2002, where he spent over a decade helping build a global quantitative trading firm and shaping policy debates around technology in financial markets. In 2014, he co-founded Chaincode Labs with Alex to support open-source development of decentralized digital currencies. He now brings his experience of building technical teams to the challenge of connecting AI talent with scientific research.

Adam Jonas

Co-Founder

Jonas is CEO at Chaincode Labs, where he spearheaded multiple educational initiatives focused on helping contributors make an impact on bitcoin and related technologies. He previously worked as a software engineer and manager after transitioning from his former role developing the talents of professional baseball players.

Putting AI to work on science

We're placing our first cohort of engineers with research labs now. If you're an AI engineer, scientist, or run a research lab, we'd like to hear from you.
